Supermodel

Note the 2012 special: a dropped Supermodel (on the right)
|
November 2011It's a twin-tip drop-through for freeride/freestyle downhill, and soft wheel sliding. It is stiff, but with the routered channels, it has a touch of torsional flex to enhance and make sliding more forgiving and predictable without sacrificing the stiff feel of the deck. It allows the rider to control the truck more independently of each other than usual, and also helps distribute load more evenly between all 4 wheels with tighter trucks. Grabbing rail for drifts, and early grabs is no problem on this thing, even with bulky slide
gloves. There is a deep elliptical concave that is deeper near the trucks. It's on one plane, no rocker, no chamber. Hand picked Great Lakes region hard rock maple. No, maple is not all the same, and we have the best of the best. We payed close attention to the details. There is maximum possible real estate near the trucks without wheelbite, and features a deep wheel well that fits snug with large wheels. Please note that this deck was primarily designed to work with 70-72mm wheels. Indy 215's/Tracker Dart 219 will fit most wheels up to 76mm but Bear Grizzly and Randal trucks will get wheel bite on wheels larger than 70mm. Even then wheelbite can happen with lose trucks. Wheels 65mm-68mm will be better with those trucks . The Supermodel is NOT designed to work with Paris trucks. They will shorten your wheelbase, and get bite with bigger wheels. There are routered channels for a touch of torsional flex without sacrificing the stiffer feel of the deck. This will allow the load to be evenly distributed between all 4 wheels in slides for a more predictable ride. Fun, fun, fun, and that's their whole purpose at Earthwing. They are not the cool guys with the hair-do's and sneakers, they are the fun guys with knowledge and determination.

Production run of Summer 2011
Round 3Round 2Round 1 |
February/March 2011The 40"9-ply arrived already in February, the 8-ply arrives end of March. Different colors, same shape.
Round 3 These started shipping at EarthWing at May 10th, and Surf2Go will get quite a few. We already got the first orders in for them. Order them fast, these will be gone soon. EarthWing stretched the wheelbase by 3/8" to give you just enough extra room to make it easier to go with a bigger wheel. This was designed to fit 70-72, but with the right kit you can go bigger. EarthWing wanted a tight fit with maximum platform real estate, so your wheels will be close, but not bite. Blue 8ply Green 9ply get it now, there are not many and they are in high demand! This deck is rad. We have tested several prototypes, and finally we landed what we think is the best DH freestyle deck available. There is a deep elliptical concave that is deeper near the trucks. It's on one plane, no rocker, no chamber. It comes in 2 flexes - stiff 8 ply, and stiffer 9 ply, with hand picked Great Lakes region hard rock maple. No, maple is not all the same, and we have the best of the best. We payed close attention to the details. There is maximum possible real estate near the trucks without wheelbite, and features a deep wheel well that fits snug with large wheels. Please note that this deck was primarily designed to work with 70-72mm wheels. You can usually go up to about 76mm wheels with indy 215's, bear, and randal, but not designed to work with Paris trucks. They will shorten your wheelbase, and get bite with bigger wheels. There are routered channels for a touch of torsional flex without sacrificing the stiffer feel of the deck. This will allow the load to be evenly distributed between all 4 wheels in slides for a more predictable ride. You can also grab rail, even with bulky slide gloves - just look at how big they are! Fun, fun, fun, and that's our whole purpose here at Earthwing.
