It has been done in the past. Our entire skate industry once was based on hardwood skateboards. It has been done, but it has never been done like this before. In 2010 we are pushing the envelope on how a hardwood longboard can be ridden and also how it can be made.
Mixing creative minds, the art of woodworking and a passion for skating we are creating some of the highest performing longboards out there. While we still have our classic cruisers, we also have a line of freeride, dancers, playful commuters, and even the industries first customizable downhill longboard.

Balance Longboards is a new and upcoming company that is focused on creating hardwood skateboards with recycled woods and non-toxic adhesives while providing the rider with the highest quality in handmade, custom built, and innovative longboard design. Here you have the options with your longboard. You can either choose one of our handcrafted hardwood longboards, or call us up and ask for a custom skateboard, thought up and designed by yourself! Either way you go we can guarantee that your longboards is a 100% original skateboard. Whether you are bombing it down a local hill, cruising your college campus, or just making a late night trip to the packy for a six pack, we have a hardwood longboard for you. And if we don’t, just let us know, we can shape a custom skateboard specifically for you using your thoughts and ideas.
We strive to be the most innovative and passionate skateboard companies out there. Always pushing the envelope on how a longboard can be made as well as how it can be ridden. Never settling on constraints or being told that it can’t be done.
Using only the finest hardwoods available, individually selected then put together by hand one at a time to create our longboards. Each stringer is connected to the other stringers by the O.N.E. system, with close attention paid to grain patterning to ensure strength durability as well as long life. Then we draw our boards, cut them to shape, finally finishing them off by sanding them. No cookie cutter templates, every skateboard is handmade giving the customer a completely custom hardwood longboard everytime.
Balance started with the idea of ‘Love Your Life’, finding out that the true balance in all things good or bad can create the ultimate stoke. Each deck is made from Sapele and Hard Rock Maple, utilizing the O.N.E. system to integrate every stringer into the next. Each board is finished with an external varnish and a clear grip top.
